St. Columbkille’s School opens.

It is located at 25 Arlington Street. Operated for more than 100 years by the Sisters of St. Joseph, the school eventually includes an elementary school and high school. It is reorganized to be operated by the parish, the Archdiocese of Boston, and Boston College in 2006.
